Alright so I finally found time to install Ubuntu on my PC a few days back, which means I can now test stuff on a proper PC as opposed to a laptop that is about to die.
So I started up TF2 and first thing I noticed was horrendously bad screen tearing. Thankfully that was easily fixed by disabling multicore rendering.
Second problem however seems to be a bit more difficult to fix: it is nearly impossible to rocket jump.
It seems I can shoot rockets normally most of the time. However if I try to rocket jump one of the to happens:
a. I can do the first jump and then the rockets keep shooting. I have to click again for it to stop. After that the rocket either don't shoot at all or they get stuck again.
b. I can shoot rockets normally but as soon as I try to rocket jump nothing happens 90% of the time. (Sometimes it actually works!)
I have messed around with some video settings and since then it seems that a is not happening anymore, only b.
Another thing is the windowed noborder launch options. I ditched unity for gnome2/gnome classic because unity is horrible. When I start tf2 in windowed noborder mode the game is behind the top and bottom bars. Which is a bit awkward.
Now I'm not sure if any of those are actual bugs or if I just messed up big time with some settings but any help would be appreciated.
