Steam client GPU related bug on Ubuntu 14.04 with AMD drivers

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 with fglrx 14.12 (AMD 7870XT) and i noticed that when i browse my library in grid view ( the one with the big icons) and i hover over different games , my gpu makes a squeaking sound and my gpu temperature jumps +10 Celsius in one second. Can anyone else reproduce this? it seems like a dangerous bug.

This is not a Linux Problem alone AMD drivers are not well known for heat management on all OS.
