Mesa 9.0 vs 9.1
Valve recomends to use xorg-edgers ppa wich contains mesa 9.1. Its still in development and it shows graphical glitches in some 3d apps. So i want to switch mesa to 9.0 stable release.
Will it impact on performance of TF2 and SS3?

I am currently running TF2 and SS3 with mesa 9.0 without any major issue. Of course, I might have lower performance and not realize it ;)

This discussion is kind of useless if you don't even mention what driver you are referring to - the intel driver e.g. still uses Mesa Classic, radeon and nouveau use Gallium3D, very huge difference there.

First purge the Xorg-Edgers PPA, it will automatically downgrade affected packages.
Then add the X Updates : “Ubuntu-X” team PPA.

sudo -i
apt-get install ppa-purge
ppa-purge ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
Then log out, and log back in. (with all GUI using users)
