Issue Report: Killing Floor fails silently if files are corrupt
So I went to play Killing Floor to test a report on the forum, and it wouldn’t start ‐ the loading box appeared and then vanished. So I checked again watching the terminal and this was output:

Game update: AppID 1250 "Killing Floor", ProcID 3986, IP ERROR: object '' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored. Setting breakpad minidump AppID = 1250 Steam_SetMinidumpSteamID: Caching Steam ID: 76561197970948899 [API loaded no] saving roaming config store to 'sharedconfig.vdf' roaming config store 2 saved successfully InPos>Size in FFileManagerWindows. This error is probably due to either your computer overheating, or a corrupted installation of your game. If this error persists, please try re-installing the game. Exiting due to error Game removed: AppID 1250 "Killing Floor", ProcID 3987

Would be great to push the error message to the user somehow.

After verifying files, it had found 280 MB worth of the install needed replacing (dunno htf that happened), but that fixed it.

thank you for your solution, but it doesnt work for me :-/
Call_me, are you certain you removed the mods from Steam library? Once you install something like Defence Alliance 2, verifying KF game caches will check DA2 instead.
Its easier to fully delete KF & reinstall if its not verifying correctly.
