Issue Report: fglrx-experimental drivers on 12.10?
I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 with an AMD 6870 card, and I'm trying to install the AMD 12.11 driver. I have read through the pages and , however, I can't manage to find fglrx-experimental.

I have enabled Pre-released updates (quantal-proposed) in Software Sources, but only fglrx and fglrx-updates appear on Additional Drivers. And I'm neither able to find the package through the terminal with apt and aptitude.

I think it's only available on Ubuntu 12.04 ATM.
You'll have to manually install 12.11 or use another repo.

Ah, okey, thanks. Do you know if there is a PPA?

xorg-edgers usually carries newer drivers, but I think they only have 12.10 for now.

Do you think that 12.10 is enough? I have heard that AMD recently pushed out a new version that supposedly would give a good performance boost on Linux.
To manually install the driver, should I do something like this: ?
However, I currently have version 8.96.7 installed (I think it would be 12.4), so I guess both would be better.

The new Source engine optimisations are included in the Catalyst 12.11 beta 8, but this driver is pretty broken. The first Catalyst 12.11 beta release is working quite well though.

Okey, I guess I will wait until they are a bit more stable then. There is imo nothing worse than unstable graphics drivers. :p
