Issue Report: TF2 has unusable menus, not displaying images
When attempting to use the script from within the folder, I get this:

$ primusrun ./
/home/myusername/Steam/SteamApps/barbariandude/Team Fortress 2/ line 72: 20843 Segmentation fault ${GAME_DEBUGGER} "${GAMEROOT}"/${GAMEEXE} "$@"

So I thought, no biggie, using your shell script as inspiration for what's needed, I'll make my own. I ended up with this after much trial and error and begging people on freenode for help:

cd ~/Steam/SteamApps/barbariandude/Team\ Fortress\ 2/
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/myusername/Steam/SteamApps/barbariandude/Team\ Fortress\ 2/bin/:/home/myusername/Steam/ubuntu12_32/:/home/myusername/.steam/bin/:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
primusrun ./hl2_linux

Using that, my game ran and had sound, which was definitely a step in the right direction. However, it looks like this and the only buttons that work are options, advanced options and quit.

That's pretty much where I am now. Here's all the STDERR output from a launched TF2 session incase somebody sees something that I don't: (I tried copying over cef_gtk.pak from ~/Steam/ubuntu12_32/, and it got rid of the error but nothing changed, so I removed it again)

Thanks in advance, really hoping to be able to play TF2 sometime soon.

Thanks, i made some little changes to your script and now i can run TF2 Beta (TF2 still segfaults). The beta is painfully slow to load, but at least it works.

#Steam username

cd ~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/$username/Team\ Fortress\ 2\ Beta/
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/$USER/.steam/steam/SteamApps/$username/Team\ Fortress\ 2\ Beta/bin/:/home/$USER/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32/:/home/$USER/.steam/bin/:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
# I have pulseaudio
#export SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa
primusrun ./hl2_linux -game tf_beta
