This morning I started to download Team Fortress 2 and left the house for some hours to do some stuffs, and when I came back, Steam was closed.
It happened three or four times already. Every time I left my laptop on at night, downloading TF2, Steam closes itself.
If I'm working on it and downloading at same time, it doesn't closes, but at some point the download start to go down and end up being stuck at 0 bytes per second, like if I had no connection.System specs

Tried it with Ubuntu 12.10 and ElementaryOS Luna (based on 12.04), and it happened on both. I also tried in two different cities, so I'm sure it isn't network related.
The .crash file is empty, so I can't provide anything from that. I will run Steam from terminal tonight and see if i can give any more info on this problem.
Thanks for your time and sorry if it was already reported :)
