Help us translate Steam

Now that I took a look at the .steam folder on my home, I see lots of files that wasn't there before, like a steam.pid, starting and a symbolic link to bin32.
With all the different opcode failings, it feels like Steam is picking an index from a list based on an assumption…
I do notice that sometimes when I kill MainThrd in System Monitor, the Steam Updater shows up and reapplies the update and then the errors happen again.
I am running on Ubuntu 12.10 x86_64 with Unity.
EDIT: I tried running Steam through Bumblebee (optirun) and it works.
EDIT2: There are lots of graphical glitches to the main window while running under optirun. I created a separate issue report here
Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64 (Unity)

Running Steam with optirun works though.
It doesn't work with primusrun:

Those dump files available here, if they're needed: {LINK REMOVED}http://ge.tt/2LPFJzR
Ubuntu 12.04 64bits
Then steam update window must appear but it crashes.
Millions Linux users cries (actually 1 thousand) because they can not access their games or even revert the changes, steam redownloads that deadly update.
This is black day for all Linux community (especially for Ubuntu and Arch users).
This is kind of irony.
Actually, good that this bug appears. Its 1st big update, and better that it appears now.
