Issue Report: Clicking *Through* Windows
I haven't quite found how to replicate this yet, but on a couple of occasions I have opened up the Friends List just for Steam to act as if it's not there - It'll click through.

That is: Main Steam client window open, with Friends list open in front of the Main client window. I'll click something on the friends list, but it will act as if the friends list isn't there and click through onto the main client window.

I THINK this happens if you start loading a webpage in the client, during loading you open up the friends list and then wait for the webpage to finish loading... But I can't confirm that just now.

Maybe someone else can, if they also get this issue at all?

I've had the exact inverse occur. I tried switching to Big Picture mode and wound up clicking on a chat window I have behind that corner of the screen.

Oo-er. That sounds mighty odd. :S
What window manager / desktop are you running? (would be useful to give more system info)

Running whatever the default Window Manager in Ubuntu 12.04 is. Sorry, I don't know the name of it, because I'm a bit crap.

Thanks for the info.

I've had the same issue. Ubuntu 12.10 with Unity and proposed repo enabled. For me it occurs very reliably with multiple monitors (running via an nvidia card, set up through the nvidia settings) when I try to install a game. The installation window pops up on my right minotior, glued to the left side of it. It will not be interactive under any circumstances until I move it away with the title bar. If a steam window is behind it, it will click through.

Yamagata could you describe your multi-monitor setup? We need to duplicate the setup here to try to reproduce this problem. Thanks.

As a preface, an update a week or so ago fixed this issue for me at least, has not come up again, though that certainly does not mean it's fixed.

I have two monitors, one is my laptop's builtin, the other is an external 17". Both at 1080p resolution set up via the nVidia drivers. External monitor is to the right of my laptop. As to my setup, it's Ubuntu 12.10, Unity with nVdia 310.14 from the official repos. I'm using an ASUS GV75VW Laptop.
