Can not wait for more games
Yeah the first month of steam was like a dream come true. I quickly finished up all the games I have not yet played and am now ready for more. Bring us fresh meat valve!

Agreed, I spam the Linux page every day to see if the # of listed games has increased. This is a dream come true indeed.

Same...even though I've installed all the Humble Indie Bundle 7 games through USC, I don't want to play them until they're on Steam.

Valve can only control the valve games, if you want other games to be ported to steam on linux ask the developers for that game to do so. It is up to them to publish their games on steam for linux and bugging them will be the quickest way to get more games available.

Though I cannot wait for L4D2 to be ported, a little disappointed it is not already available considering they claimed it was going to be one of the first ones to be ported.

There are *a lot* of games on Steam that have a linux version available outside steam but you cannot play them on steam yet...

All the Humble Bundle?? You can get the steam codes for them, and they all have a linux version, but you cannot play them from steam because Valve hasn't added them yet to their repos.

And what about a way to play some of the games in wine without having to start steam from wine? I mean, a way to start a windows game using wine while using the native Steam over linux. Lot's of the games won't work out of the box, but some would.
For Valve, it shouldn't be that difficult to change that "execv game" to "execv wine game.exe" in their code. ;-)

As I said, it is not up to Valve to add these games to their repos, it is up to the game developers to add their games to the steam repos.

Steam gives the developers a way to distrabute their games, Valve do not fully control what games are to be added to their repos.

If you want to see more games that are already availble on Linux, bug the game devs to add their Linux clients to Steam, not Valve, they wont/cannot do much about this other then bug the game devs them selves.

I doupt it is that simple since there is some communication between steam and the games, for one the overlay would not work that easily.

But this issue has been noted by Valve and might be looked into at some point, but don't expect it until after it is offically released.

I'd really love to see some more source-powered games come to the steam beta. +1

I think we will be seeing more games once the beta is over...

This -really- belongs in the general discussion, for all it's worth.

Port Skyrim please!
dulBIRAKAN [Linux] Jan 9, 2013 @ 10:40am
If I posted it in the general discussion it would have gotten lost, without ever being seen by linux users. Plus, this community forum is no longer used for bug reporting as far as I know.
