Fedora 17 64bit Segmentation error during client update
After installing Steam from the repo steam.repo (http://spot.fedorapeople.org/steam/) then start to download the update but when tries to apply it steam give me this output

[root@fedora ~]# steam

Why are you trying to run steam as root?

Try to install newest NVIDIA betta drivers (if using nvidia).

Just a coincidence, I was root for other reason while opening this thread.

I've the latest 313.09

So have you tried running it as a normal user?
It tries to copy files into your home directory; if you are root the folder it's trying to copy to doesn't exist.
