Symlinking is acting up on me, asks me to find valid directory.
Ok, my problem is that symlinking the Steam directory is somehow acting up on me, and is generally hating me.

First, I moved the .local/share/Steam folder to my NTFS External Harddrive. Then I symlinked that folder to my internal harddrive. Strangely, when I try to launch Steam, it wants me to find the directory, and when I do, it tells me it's invalid.

What should I do?

Thanks guys.

is your FAT32 steam installation a windows one? if so, it will not work.

I don't understand. The folder in FAT32 is the Linux copy. However, I don't know who really formatted my HD, because it was like that when I got it.

fat32 is not good as it can not hold files >4gb. with ntfs it basically works.

Whoops. Sorry. I should have checked before I posted. It is in NTFS. I just never knew. So you learn something new everyday. I'll fix it in original post.

Ooh. Just got into my drive, and went to steam.sh and right-clicked it. Went to the permissions tab, and found that the "Allow executing file as program" box wasn't checked. For some reason, I couldn't check it, so I'm Googling that right now.

Weird. I reinstalled steam, and symlinked the SteamApps Folder, and BAM, it just worked.
