My suggestions and issues
Hi all and sorry for my english :)
I'm in limited Steam beta and I want to write my suggestion about Steam and my bugs in Team Fortress 2 Beta.
My Linux distro is 64 bit Arch. My computer specs:
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
- Nvidia Geforce 8600GT (drivers: nvidia 310.19)
My DE is LXDE and WM is OpenBox.

My TF2 Beta issues:
- can't change fullscreen resolution, no matter what I set it always back to native resolution.
- no sound. I installed pulseaudio-alsa package from distro repo and started pulseaudio (pulseaudio --start) but it didn't help.
- if in fullscreen game is crashing when I use ALT+TAB to change active window
- in nouveau video driver I had strange rectangular shadows in game. In nvidia official driver shadows is OK
- I don't know if i can count this as bug but TF2 Beta need really a lot of RAM. When I'm playing TF2 Beta it "eats" about from 1.6 to 2GB RAM. When I was running TF2 in wine it needed about 700-900mb

My suggestions what to change:
- add compability to LXPanel tray because there is no tray icon like in Windows and when I close Steam window i must kill it and start it again
- Steam now needs root privileges and I think that it isn't needed for using Steam and playing games. Some time ago when starting Steam it wanted to type root password to replace file /usr/bin/steam by <home directory>/.local/share/Steam/
- add other languages in TF2 Beta. This is not a problem but it would be nice if I could have Polish language like in TF2 :P TF2 and TF2 Beta are almost this same so it's matter of copy a few files to gcf(?) or game directory
- I think that TF2 Beta now runs slower than in Windows but it's a difference of few FPS

Anyway great job in porting Steam and TF2 to Linux :) It really works great in OpenGL and I'm waiting to see your other games in Linux :)
