Issue Report: Launch game form NTFS partition isn't working
Hello:
I was trying to launch games from a NTFS partition where i have read/write permissions.
I don't know if it's a bug or a bad use of partition. I have move "Steamapps" folder into NTFS partition and make a link. I download the game as usual but i can't launch it.
Example with Cogs:
Error:
/bin/sh: 1: /media/sda8/SteamApps/common/Cogs/Cogs: Permission denied
however i can crate or delete any folder from this partition. Same thing happend with TF2

I heard and experienced that NTFS doesn't support per file User Permissions and that it does bug out some things on Linux.
Could you paste your relevant fstab lines?

does this one help? (2 seconds google)

I think meybe is something about the mounting time because i can't see all the folders in this drive. I look into the mounting time and reply for any doubts. Thanks for reply

Did you mount your partition with execution permission? By default you can't execute binaries from NTFS partition. You could override that by mounting it with option "exec"

i.e.
sudo mount /dev/WINDOWS_PARTITION /mnt/WINDOWS_MOUNT_POINT -o users,rw,exec

If possible on NTFS, check who the owner is on the files. I had a HFS+ filesystem that I had to chown some directories & files on so that I could execute content there.
