Issue Report: Unkillable Steam process
This is probably due to my setup rather than Steam, but something weird happens when I launch Steam from Openbox on Fedora 17 (not tested with other distros).

The processes that are created are child processes of pid 1 on my system which is systemd because of this if the Steam process is killed or crashes it becomes a defunct process and is unkillable. Which would be OK if Steam didn't detect the defunct pid as a running instance of Steam.

Does it still leave the MainThrd process running? I've found if Steam dies this has to be killed to get rid of the zombie Steam process.

@robert.alderson2, no when it has happened to me I've tried killing all processes MainThrd or Steam(whatever) and they have produced number of defunct processes listing process 1 as holding them up which for me is systemd. However I'm having some difficulty now reproducing it. Will report back if I can get it to happen again.
