TF2: Crash on game initialization
Game starts well, shows servers' list and connects.
But when server's welcome screen had appeared game crashed.

Do you actually get to the menus before crashing? Mine crashes while it says 'Loading' in the bottom right when first opening - basically it just closes down the game and returns to the desktop with no error message or warning.

I can confirm this issue. I'm able to click Play on the main Steam window, and it downloads (or since it's downloaded) and launches. A window opens in Full Screen for about three seconds (black window with no menus or anything) and then closes.

I've just had this. Loaded, showed intro, showed whitish background for the menu and took a while like it's always done on the Linux beta but instead of showing the menu it threw me out.

I have same problem, but i found that sometimes tf2 run fine without any issues and fps rate equal to windows version. And sometimes it crash right on server welcome screen or i get poor performance. I am not sure, but i have suspicion that it depend on loaded map.

I'm experiencing a similar behavior. TF2 starts OK, it is also possible to initiate a connection to a server, or to startup the local training missions, but when entering the welcome screen it all grinds to a halt, sometimes sound is clipping.

I have exactly the same issue on my Dell XPS M1730 with Nvidia GT8700M. Although sometimes i do get connected but usually performance will be pretty poor.
