Issue Report: FTL: Faster Than Light does not download
It seems as though FTL doesn't download once I choose to install it. I've tried downloading Osmos and SpaceChem, and they both seem to download just fine. Deleting all local content for FTL doesn't do anything, verifying the integrity of the game cache does nothing (reports back that it's intact). Keep in mind that I'm only talking about downloading, whether or not the games work after being installed is another story (and another issue report to file).

Somebody raised this issue up already, and the FTL devs said it should be fixed in a couple of days.

Why'd you want to DL it, even though you won't be able to install it?

You really shouldn't be bothered about the games that aren't on the supported list (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8495-OKZC-0159).

Because it wouldn't be the first time they missed a game on that list (Example: Osmos works just fine). I wanted to see for myself.

Also, my apologies for posting the issue if it's already been posted.

Because their website says they officially support Linux, and even after buying the game here on Steam it shows up in my library under "Linux Games."

I too have this problem. It was on my wishlist then I saw it on sale, so I bought it, then I click "install" and nothing happens except it saying it's ready to play, but I click play and it tells me there's a missing executable.

This is at 10:00AM Seoul time.

This is what I see in their FAQ:

Steam offers Windows and Mac builds: http://store.steampowered.com/app/212680
Source: http://www.ftlgame.com/?page_id=192#where

Alas, they do not have the Linux binary up on Steam yet.
It's not even listed under Linux games on Steam yet:

If you already own the game it does show up on the Linux list in your Library. This is what has people confused. From the devs replies i'm guessing they plan to upload the linux binary soon

FTL was released on the Humble Store platform, for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It's DRM-free, and because you already legally own a copy, you could ask FTL's developers to provide you a copy of the Linux installer.
I just looked over the readme for FTL, it states pretty planely that "Unauthorized duplication of this game is strictly prohibited." so you would have to seek an 'authorized' source, and a way for them to confirm that you have the game, and that the person contacting them is the same person who owns your Steam account (PGP maybe, or ask them to give you a random number to put on your Steam profile)
Personally, I have faith that the FTL devs will be able to get a Linux binary on Steam in a few days.

Hi guys. One of the devs here. Sorry about the delay but I am working on it. No ETA at this time, but hopefully not long!

I put file dowloaded on the humble store in ~/Steam/SteamApps/common/FTL Faster Than Light and it works perfectly (game & steam ui: ok)
