The looping is probably caused by the impending crash. We've added your info to the bug database.

That is the thing, really. I didn't know if it was an audio subsystem hangup causing the crash, or the sound looping was an effect of the game crashing.

Hi Atomic-Penguin. If this is still crashing, can you post your latest CrashID? Thanks.

I am sometimes getting similar short hang with sound looping, but then the game continues like nothing happened. NVIDIA GTX 260 on Debian Wheezy here, with SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa.

I thought it was Linux manifestation of this Windows bug, which I also suffer from: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1774666

i had experienced this same issue a week ago. the night before i turned my ram speed up to 1600. So i ran it in a terminal and found the ram wasn't handling the speed very well. How i fixed it was turning the speed back down to 1333.

@mikesart, it seems like it has been well over a week since I've last seen this issue. Marking this issue resolved.
