Issue report: Steam doesn't close when I ask it to
Hi,

I want to move Steam's files to a bigger filesystem, so I want to close steam, move the files and put in a symlink. I hit the X, and started moving things around and noticed that Steam was still running - that's not good. So I hit X again and it appears to close - but it still appears in my Alt-Tab menu, so I try and fail again. In the end I right-click from the task bar and close it there.

Apps not closing when they're told to close is not expected behaviour unless I've explicitly configured it so and as indicated by this example can be dangerous. There's also appears to be no configuration option for this behaviour. Please disable this behaviour and make it opt-in if you absolutely must have it.

It works the same way under windows. It's a normal behavior.

This is not normal behavior for any other program I use, if I click the X I expect programs to close. Failing to meet deeply ingrained user expectations can be dangerous, as in this case.

I agree it's confusing. Close != minimize.
With the Windows version there at least is a tray icon. But since it's the same behaviour as in other versions it's "a feature, not a bug". :)

But the behaviour does exist in some Linux apps already, Pidgin for example defaults to close = minimise-to-tray.

You must go to steam and than to close. That will close Steam.
The X will not work in Linux as it doesn't do it in Windows.
It closes the screen but it keeps running in the back.
