I have the latest nvidia-experimental-310 drivers.
It seems that regardless of GPU load, the NVidia driver doesn't do anything to change fan speed on my graphics card. So, I found an article explaining how to add a fan slider into the NVidia control panel. http://www.endoflinemag.com/games/item/1230-ubuntu-1204-and-nvidia-gpu-fan-setting
I need to edit the xorg.conf file, but I don't have one. I found an article explaining how to generate an xorg.conf file. http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/create-a-xorgconf-file.html
When I try to do so, I get the following error: Fatal server error:
Server is already active for display 0
If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock
and start again.
I also found a program someone made for fan profiles, like what I have with MSI Afterburner in Windows, but I also have to edit the xorg.conf file to use it. http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=903040&mpage=1
Can someone please help me?
