Some things that I noticed on install
Hello there and 1st I am super duper happy that steam is now in Linux. But there where a couple of issues that I had.
1) the icon is not showing up in the Unity launcher. This is due to the fact that the img file that is under
<source>/usr/share/pixmaps/
is a xpm image type and maybe should be made into a png or a svg ?

2) after opening Up the debian package I looked at the control file and noticed that
"wrap and sort " [1]
had not yet been run on
<source>/debian/*
this just makes it easy to read .

3) <source>/debian/control [2]
I noticed that there is a bunch of licence stuff in that file under the description. Maybe that would be best under the debian/copywrite ?

4) there is no debian/changlog [3] file. I see that there is a changeloag archive under
<source>/usr/share/docs
maybe that should be moved to the changelog file ?

5) there is also no watch file [4] located under <source>debian/*
watch files are great maybe steam can have one ?

6) Lintian [5] warnings: here is what I got back

lintian steam.deb
W: steam: copyright-without-copyright-notice
W: steam: extended-description-line-too-long
W: steam: extended-description-line-too-long

well there is my 2 cents if it is even worth that. Again thanks a bunch for bringing steam to linux :)

bobweaver, thanks for the feedback and suggestions!
One thing I noticed is that my Unity launcher does have the proper icon. I know that there was an issue where you needed to log out and back in before the icon is updated. Have you tried that?

After the upgrade, and the first launch the login window is minimized and you can not change its size. When you close and reopen the window is displayed correctly.
