Issue Report: Serious Sam 3 BFE texture fail
The game runs fine, with 30fps average, but the texture has some black dots in scenario, characters and even the movies.
When I opened the console, the last line show an error on loading the texture file "OuterParts_CM.tex".

Another issue occur when I try to take a screenshot, all the computer freeze, but I will open a new topic to report that.

You have to enable "No dynamic lighting" in performance-->GPU speed and the corruption will go away.

Intel GPUs are not supported until driver is fixed. It may be made to work with some workarounds like iskeledz mentioned, but we can't help much.

I've updated the video driver with x-swat/updates repositories and when I enabled "No dynamic lighting" like iskeledz said, the game runs almost perfect, the only issue remaining is an excessive light in a few maps that was reduced when I changed the color from "standard" to "vivid".

I also noted that the more I increased up the depth of textures, antialiasing and other resources, more graphics issues showed up like color changing, objects vanishing and other weird things.

Anyway, thanks for the tips!!

Thanks for the info about correlation of texture size and artifacts. We should let Intel know about it.

Intel drivers are improving in a really good pace. Is impressive how it improved in the past months with their works with Valve. Let's hope in Ubuntu 13.04 we get speed parity with Windows drivers :) and maybe in 13.10 we get more speed than on Windows :D

@ThOR27: It's really true and I hope for the same! About that I have a question: I know mesa is an open source project and Intel, as well as many other companies contribute to this project, but this improve on drivers are direct response from Intel to Valve or exist another reason?

There was a direct response to Valve, they work together to make L4D2 work on linux+intel.
