Issue Report: TF2 Crash on start
I just about hear the valve intro start for half a second, and then the game crashes.

Hi, you've got the same issue as me. Try -novid to skip the intro video to see if that's the cause. I did that and got another issue of a missing texture 'materials/Console/startup_loading.vtf' but it might work for you.

I tried to just redownload TF2, and the problem was gone. Maybe it was related to my symlink, not sure, but I'll try to confirm if -novid fixed the issue on my old TF2 symlinked install

I get the same missing background image error now and I'm using a sym-linked install. This could be related.

I can confirm it is related. Instead of symlinking, I tried binding the directory "mount -o bin" and the game starts instead of crashing with the "startup_loading.vtf" error.
