ctrl+c and ctrl+v seem to work fine for me. Can you provide more details on exactly where you're copy-pasting from and to?

ctrl+c and ctrl+v don't work coping any word in Steam and pasting in the Steam. Just works with mouse...

This problem seems to be in all Steam For Linux clients...

Confirming and providing details.

I'm on Xfce, and I have the clipman clipboard manager panel item manage my clipboard. (It leaves basic copy/paste functionality to the system; just adds convenience of having a history of previously copied items.)

Test case 1, where it won't work:
I go to a store or community page (or basically, any place in Steam with selectable HTML content).
I select some content. Then I press ctrl+C.
I check my clipman history and the content is not added at all (it should be, as the last/current item).

When I right-click the selection and pick "Copy" the content IS copied to the clipboard.

Test case 2, where it does work:
I go to Help > System information.
I select some text. (misc note: it's difficult to see the selection because it turns just a bit whiter; there's no selection box like on the HTML pages.)
I press ctrl+C.
The content is properly added to my clipboard.

Ctrl-V is the same: it will refuse to paste anything if it's a text box in a HTML page. But pasting in the chat with ctrl+V works just fine.

Ubuntu with Unity, no special clipboard stuff going on. I see the same behavior in both test cases (i.e. case 1 doesn't work, case 2 does).

Well... That's why I made the test cases. More details on where it happens helps the devs track down the nature of the issue more quickly. ;)

same issue with xfce.
also, when pasting with right click, the focus is wrong, need to click again in the textbox.

to reproduce in the new comment textbox for example
- type text
- select text
- right click
- "copy"
- right click
- "paste"
- press backspace

expected:
- removes last char pasted

actual:
- nothing
