Issue Report: ugly updater window (ru_RU.UTF-8 locale, XFCE4)
When Steam tries to download a new version of the client, the updater window looks like this: http://imgur.com/0oaSY

Not only the fonts aren't right, but the number separator is changed into ? for some reason.

I have the same issue. Ubuntu 12.10, Gnome shell. Locale - ru_UA.UTF-8

Looks normal to me. Steam can only use fonts which are installed. Install windows fonts if you want it to look like under windows.

Windows fonts are installed. And if it looks normal to you, it really shouldn't. Linux has enough GUI problems already for Steam to increase their numbers.

We are readying a fix for the thousands separator. The font issue is harder but we're looking at it.
Madkinder Nov 21, 2012 @ 11:59pm
Same here, Ubuntu 12.04, locale uk_UA.UTF-8.

@drewb, that's weird, since the fonts are broken only in the updater window, rest of the fonts are ok. Though the thousands separator is broken everywhere.

I have the same issue on Ubuntu 12.10 (Gnome Shell) with Polish locale (pl_PL.UTF-8). Screen: http://i45.tinypic.com/mrfg5u.png

Another ugly thing: http://i45.tinypic.com/34ffhc7.png

Also Steam icon in Overlay is blurry. Can you provide it in higher resolutions? Maybe even in 128x128, so you won't need it to do it again in few years.
