Steam lens for Unity?

As of now I'm using ~/.steam/registry.vdf to find which games are installed and which ones are purchased but not installed. Is this the file I should be using or is there a better way?

So I'm thinking 3 categories: Installed, Purchased, and Available
Should Available only contain Linux games?

another idea is to use the categories/tags that are used by Steam. This might be stored on the server though. It would be nice if i could look at my favorites, purchased, installed, categories in the lens.

Do you mean categories you have created, or ones built into steam (the ones that pop up under the games tab in the store)?

The former might be hard/impossible, I don't know if you can dynamically create categories in unity.

I meant the tag system. For example I have audiosurf and beat hazard tagged as music.

Ok, that might be a bit harder for categories... Perhaps I could make searching "music" return things with tag "music" in addition to it being in the title?

@brpylko, is there any work ongoing? If so is there any source code available? I might test and/or help with some coding.
