Alien Swarm Linux?
Steam is able to be controlled from a web interface, like most of us know.
We can start the download of a specific game over the community->games tab.
I saw that it shows up PC as the operating system when you use Steam with wine and I wondered wether this page would show Linux if I log in with the native client without an invite (and no bypass). Then I saw that I was able to download Alien Swarm. Now I wonder if Valve is porting Alien Swarm to Linux :o. What are you guys and girls thinking?
(By the way Valve if you read this please invite me to the beta^^ (Sorry for begging but i'm too exited about Steam for Linux))

What's your problem? You'll be abloe to refer a Linux system with the Gnu software stack as a Gnu/Linux system without refering to the licence-.-

When I try to install Alien Swarm via the native client it say: "Not available for your platform" of course.

Just a bug. Some (non-linux) demos and DLCs also have an install button on the web interface, but still you cannot install them.

Sorry, a joke. Weirdly I'm seeing a quite different profile for you now, have you just changed it or was my browser bugging out showing you as something like: GnuLinuxEpert?

Anyway, I meant licence as in licence to practice (or kill in 007's case). It was a little joke about Gnu Linux's Richard Stallman's negative reaction to Steam. Just thought it was amusing that GnuLinuxExpert wanted to be on the beta so badly.

Gosh... Some see gnu as religion or livestyle... I changed my name to avoid sutch converations... -.- FYI my name had GnuLinuxExp not Expert. Exp standed for Exploring since I tried Linux 4 years ago just for fun. Please... stay to the topic.

On topic, I'd love to see Alien Swarm on Linux. Definitely on my radar :) As far as the download goes, people have been able to download lots of games that aren't actual Linux copies. I'm unaware of any real AS support currently.

Bump. I believe it would be, there was some effort in the code to be ported to Linux.

I used to play the crap out of the original UT2004 AS mod, but being a Linux user, was always excluded from the later Source port. It'd be awesome to get this supporting Linux also, since source already does. Hell, I'd even pay for it.

Many people loves Alien Swarm. Really nice type of game, wonderfull "Aliens" mood. It can be released with more levels, it will make some dollars. And for the linux plateform, it would be a pleasure for us. Anyway we hope Steam ppl are reading...
Because I play with Wine and I can't play it anymore. Some kind of bug with the graphics in the briefing section.
