Steam for Linux

Where are other linux games?
Hi guys.
I activated games from HumbleBudle in Steam. But, unfortunatelly, Steam knows nothing about linux versions of theese games. It's very strange, because I can download Linux version of the game from the HumbleBudle page, but Steam says, that there is no version for my platform. =(
Why? There are a lot of small Indie games and they have linux version.

Ask game developers. Maybe they not yet prepared their games for steam on linux.

I hope Torchlight 1 from the HiB makes it to Steam in the near future.

And Torchlight 2 of course.

Dude, they just released a very early beta of steam for a limited number of people in an enclosed environment. Applications don't pop up out of nowhere, ready to be installed via steam. Give them some time. They will be available to Steam on Linux early enough.

Why? Can you back this with sources?

I asked HumbleBundle team about their games. But haven't got an answer still.
But OilRush developers have
already answered, that they would make version for Steam.

I know there's a Linux release of Super Meat Boy, so when I got the beta invite for Steam on Linux I was rather surprised to see it wasn't on the list of available games.

I'd love to know if anyone knows why.

This game has Linux version, but it doesn't adapted for Steam for Linux.
Developers must update their games and upload to Steam.
I asked the same question there. Look at Frank's answer.

Still closed beta...largely untested by the amount of users that want to try it. For all those humble indy bundle downloads on ubuntu store I'm sure they will be the first to make it over to steam. Right now the only game I have in the bundles in steam is SPAZ. Bit trip runner, torchlight, and bastion do have linux versions but need the steam linux DRM treatment. I'm sure it will be really soon. Maybe even as soon as the beta goes open.

Super Meat Boy you can buy it at Ubuntu Software Center. But there are games such as Shank that there was a linux port on HIB but there is no place you can buy it. I hope they release it on Steam!

I think there are two related things holding these games back.
First of all, a lot of the HIB Linux ports were not done in-house. In addition, most of the Steam features (such as achievements) are disabled. These features would probably have to be added back before releasing them on Steam, but as the ports weren't done in house, they might not have the desire or knowledge to do it.

That said, I really hope we get Super Meat Boy here. One of my favorites.

Don't know if this link's been shared but for my money it's the best list of Linux games currently available for steam.
