Developers must update their games and upload to Steam.
I asked the same question there. Look at Frank's answer.
First of all, a lot of the HIB Linux ports were not done in-house. In addition, most of the Steam features (such as achievements) are disabled. These features would probably have to be added back before releasing them on Steam, but as the ports weren't done in house, they might not have the desire or knowledge to do it.
That said, I really hope we get Super Meat Boy here. One of my favorites.
