Half Life 1 seg fault on startup
I've been trying to play Opposing Force on Linux but it seems to crash on startup. I also tried standard Half Life but that has the same problem. I see the splash screen briefly, it fails to go full-screen, then it goes back to desktop.
I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 and can post terminal output if that helps.

The program 'hl_linux' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 101 error_code 9 request_code 14 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I don't have an answer for you. I just recommend verifying game cache, and if that doesn't work you should also file a report on https://github.com/ValveSoftware/
