I'd recommend ia32-libs but it's old and not necessary for Steam to run. Feel free to install it if you want, it might even solve the problem (sudo apt-get install ia32-libs)

* To clean the broken packages = "sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get update"
* To clean the broken packages [Solution 2] ="sudo apt-get install -f"
* To clean the broken packages [Solution 3] ="sudo dpkg --configure -a"
* To clean the broken packages [Solution 4] = Go to synaptic package manager.
Edit > Fix broken Packages.
*To clean the broken packages [Solution 5] = "apt-get install [package]"
*To clean the broken packages [Solution 6] = "dpkg --get-selections | grep hold"

Try
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
then
apt-get update
and then see if Steam runs or installs.
Then
sudo apt-get install -f
and see if it handles the dependencies.
If it doesn't then try to uninstall Steam. I usually do with "apt-get remove --purge [package]", but you'll have to provide more info on how you tried to install the software.
Also, what do you mean by "32 and 64-bit"? Which one is your system?

Steam doesn't know about libgl1-mesa-dri-lts-raring and libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-raring packages. And installation on ubuntu 12.04.3 is broken.

You could try debian testing if you want, it's pretty simple. I have nvidia so I'm rather lucky in this subject.

adasiko is right. Just manually install the *-lts-raring packages and steam should start. Just do a CTRL+C when the terminal opens and asks to install additional packages. It's a bit annoying but not dramatic and will probably be fixed soon. *knocks on wood*

EDIT: Wow, just read to bug report, adasiko linked. Seems like a fix has been pushed three hours ago. I should knock on wood more often. XD
