I think Steam only allows native ports. I'm thinking of the Limbo port here.

Thing is, Metro is one of those really high end graphics games, I only hope that the devs try their best to get dx11 graphics running on openGL

Did you check your claim?
The update in phoronix' news really looks like they did check their facts, at least this time.
(And everybody should know by now that it takes some time for new games to dripple in from being in the database to being able to start the game.)
