What game?

Can you Alt+Tab out of it?
If not, press Ctrl+Alt+F1. You should see a console. Log in and end the game using htop of top.

@Bitcrusher: The name of the process is FTL, not ftl, and you don't have to kill it with SIGKILL, SIGTERM is enough:

pkill -TERM FTL

alternatively:

killall FTL

or:

kill -TERM $(pidof FTL)

sure if want to be safe but if u want to be sure :D yea i suspect it needed to be capitalized.
you don't need the -TERM as thats the default

I got the same problem.
I could also "solve it" by killing the FTL process... but it's hardly a clean solution.
Any other fix in sight? Or an explanation for why the FTL process stays hanging (and using ~60% CPU) after quitting it?

thanks!

ps x | grep FTL
kill -9 (pid of FTL process)

This is fixed by disabling steam community in-game.

or go into start menu type in "task manager" and click first thing then just click on whatever game and press end now then end now in the bow that shows up

You guys use such complicated commands in order to achieve what best could be done by:

pkill -SIGKILL FTL
