Join the "We only buy Linux games" Steam group! Show the industry there's a need for Linux games!

"I only buy games I want to play without limiting my ♥♥♥ to one platform for sake of being elitist" Steam Group, how about that?

EDIT: Seriously, it's not GNU/Linux anymore, it's just called Linux, doesn't matter what Stallmans and Free Software fanboys think about it.

then your nickname is only igen o), it doesn't matter what you think about it.

I don't really care when people say GNU/Linux, Linux, linus or even that geek operative system.
But please, don't deny the true.
Obviously you don't have any idea about the percentage of GNU software you are using. So just be happy with your ignorance.

I have to agree; GNU is a software movement that has nothing to do with Linux. Infact, the two are complete opposites. GNU = GNU's Not Unix! and Linux is Unix-like. The two are contradicting one another, wherefore the use of the term GNU/Linux is simply self-defeating. Infact, GNU developed software for Unix, way before Linux came into being.

Linux be Linux. :-) The group should be renamed to: 'More Linux Support!' The reason for this is that games should be available on all platforms, including Linux; hence it should be supported. A game that's only available on Linux isn't fair on other platforms.

sure, here:

ftp://gnu.mirror.iweb.com/gnu/

try to find pckages in your ubuntu/whatever distro you have that are not listed in that list, make a percentage and tell me you are not using GNU.

EDIT: or packages built whitout those tools

If that does not convince you then try to explain to someone who knows a little bit more than you about software enginering how this have sense:

GNU = GNU's Not Unix! and Linux is Unix-like. ---> opposite things.

And if that is not enough then please don't talk to me anymore

What...? I don't follow your argument here. What is it?
shaola Jul 31, 2013 @ 6:03am
There is no distro using linux kernel wich does not use GNU software in a high percentage, actually even the linux kernel is built with GNU "make, gcc, cpp...".

Libc wich is the most important library in a distro and without it nothing works is GNU software also. So please, just before saying something so convinced, research a bit or ask someone who knows so you guys don't look stupid.

good bye

EDIT: how do you think steam is compiled and built so you can use it? YES, they use GNU tools to do it.

Wow. What kind of internet are you using? Can I have the same, please?!?

;-)

Even Linus Torvalds is opposed to the name GNU/Linux. He called it Linux, so be it! The people who think GNU/Linux is the right name are silly. :-P GNU is more concerned with the distribution of software thereof, not the software itself.

You mean even the inventor of Linux prefers to call it Linux? Wow, that's crazy sh*t!
