- performance could be even worse than with Catalyst
Anyway, if you have some time to waste, you can try it on your current installation. Make sure to remove the current PPA and fglrx, though. You can do it like this:
First, download the newest kernel:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.10-saucy/
The files you need are: linux-headers-blabla-all.deb, linux-headers-blabla-i386.deb and linux-image-blabla-i386.deb. After you download them, install them in that order. Then, reboot your PC.
Now, you have to install the latest radeon driver from the xorg-edgers PPA:
And reboot your PC.
EDIT: Crap, power management is coming only in the 3.11 kernel. You can try this for now and if it works, wait for the 3.11 kernel to get power management as well.
