Grey the HL2: ep 2 mod for linux {FIXED}
I am running linux mint 14 does anyone know how to get this mod installed for my OS i have tried using wine but have no idea how to get steam to see it. Also tried just installing it in my soucemod folder and it shows up on the list in steam, but when i click "play" nothing happens. Thanks for the help.

Also i cannot install source SDK 2007 not supported for linux. but i can install source SDK base 2013 singleplayer going to try that and see if it helps.

This mod is for Windows. You need linux version of it.

With the new sourcesdk 2013, any mods only for Windows would need to be upgraded and released by the mod creators

You could try extracting the files out of the .exe and installing manually?

Thanks for the reply i did that and grey shows up on steam list but when i click it, it does nothing. nothing at all, also when extracting the files there is not exe inside the files sadly. i know it works in wine, the video proves this. the question is how? Maybe install steam on wine and run it from there?

I tried that but when i try to log into my account the buttons have no words and my keyboard is not working. Then again i have not tried hard enough on this.

Just run steam with this parameter: -no-dwrite

Example:
wine /yourpathto/Steam.exe -no-dwrite

OK! Got it working
Ok linux players to get grey to work on linux all you have to do is
1: get wine
2: install steam on wine
3: run these commands in term
#!/bin/bash
export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.steam
export WINEDEBUG=-all
nice -n 19 wine "<insert path to steam.exe here>" -no-dwrite

4: install SDK 2007
5: install half-life 2 and run it once
6: install half-life 2 ep 2 and run it once
7: install grey in the sourcemod folder inside the steam folder
8: enjoy it ur done. Corn for everyone!!!

Thanks to everyone above this post for all your help.

PS. I am pretty sure you cannot have halflife 2 and halflife 2 ep 2 install on your linux version of steam and your wine steam.

PSS. If you cannot find the path to steam.exe go to wine and browse your folders and then look at the top of the window to see the path to steam.exe. copy paste action time HOOOO.

Also please keep in mind i am using mint 14, which is based on ubuntu 12.10 if i am not mistaken. Sooo your results may very.
