Want Logitech mouse remap software? Ask Valve to ask Logitech...
Dear Valve,

Could you please contact Logitech on behalf of your Linux users, and let them know we would really, really love, and truly appreciate being able to properly remap our mouse buttons?
They publish software to do this in Windows, but not Linux...

For example I have an MX518 which physically has 10 buttons. In Linux though all I can use is 7 of those 10, and there is no existing Linux software that can help (I have searched, and searched, and searched, and asked, and asked, and asked, and searched some more...)

Logitech doesn't listen to us, but they might listen to Valve.

If you'd like to see Logitech publish their remap software for Linux, add a +1 to this thread. Even better, tell us which Logitech device you have that you can't use the way you'd like to.

Been there, done that dm, long ago ;)

None of it works for the newer (dev c051) MX518. The DPI buttons don't send a scan code, they dont even generate an acpi event.

I think Valve should focus on putting pressure on game developers instead of peripheral developers for Linux support. The first implies the latter anyways.

You need to use lomoco first, than they will send keycodes.

Just disassemble the windows driver and write one for linux.

No, that only works for older MX518s (dev c01e). Mine is newer (c051) and lomoco doesn't recognise it.

Uh thats ugly stuff... thanks for the warning. I will never buy a new mx518 :)

Just wanted to add, my new logitech M570 is working with lomoco.

I have my MX518 since 2005 and it works perfectly :D (P.S.: I don't use all 10 buttons)
Sol_Roller 1. juli 2013 kl. 15:44
How much is an M570 and how many buttons does it have?

@Deader: 2005 would be an older model (it won't be a c051 like mine).

I would love to see official logitech linux suppport..... but it works fine already for me .... +1 anyways.

@ Sol Roller
The M570 is a trackball not a gaming mouse. But it has two additional hotkeys.

During Steam for Linux beta I was asked by Mike Sart to make a bug report about lack of Razer linux drivers (it was an answer to my thread about it at Steam Linux forums) and they promised to talk about it with Razer at some point (or at least try). Do the same about Logitech imo, make bug/feature request report at github.

Link to my report:
