Open the steam tab at the top left corner , open settings , goto the interface tab , go down to the check box that says Run Steam when my computer starts then click ok

That caused the system not boot anymore o.O
Strange. Tried everything, removing steam from /usr/share/applications didn`t work, removing clientregistry.blob also didn't work, not even removing Steam folder.

I'll re-install the system and NEVER do it again LOL
I dont know why it didnt work

That doesn't make much sense because it's only adding Steam to the "Startup Applications" menu. What distro are you running?

Yeah don't even try, you'll probably screw your bootloader.

I just did this on openSUSE, about two days agoo, so it starts when my pc starts, no problems here though.

Just curious? Is yours an Nvidia Optimus setup because if i were to do in my laptop - it has to be 'optirun steam' ? No, am not going to try it. Just asking. :-)
Also, you could try steam login in case you are planning for game-only session.

I did it here and it's working fine.. really strange, since this doesn't mess with anything root realted, just add steam on the session application to load as far as I know.
