Should I take the hardware survey under Wine?!
I finally got asked to do the hardware survey, but it happened the one time I opened Steam up under Wine. Should I take the survey and count under Wine or should I decline so I don't risk being counted as a Windows user?

I think wine is counted as an OS rather than just a version of Windows. I wouldn't though, as i prefer my distro of choice to be counted. That's just me though. I completed my survey yesterday.

Go ahead, but set your Windows version to Windows 98 in winecfg first just to mess with them.

If that's a use case, then it's worth logging.

EDIT:
A quick google neted me this

3.1... if Steam will launch with that... *hmm*....

Awww...

3.1: Doesn't start at all.
98: "Your OS is too old".

You seriously tried it? I was joking.

Having in mind I don't feel like switching to Wheezy now, I did the survey twice under W.I.N.E.
It's no big deal, in fact Steam detects and submits Wine as additional installed software and operating system.
Therefore I expect Valve to figure out people are most likely running GNU/Linux even if not Ubuntu as it's the OS most times used for Wine stuff.

Nah, wine is seen as a windows installation.

It says its a Windows OS....running on the linux kernel, I think Valve can noodle that out
