I look for this every day, and I have been tring to predict when we will see it. Considering we already have 1.6 and CSS, which were released, I think, one week apart, it looks like it will be soon. Also because CSS and GO are more closely related, both using the source engine.

However, GO is more of a "figure head" game, so they probably want to take their time and make sure it performs well and looks good on linux. It will probably be one of the first popular games on the Steambox.

For the record, this game is the only piece of software that I run on windows.

I know wine isn't always the easiest, but CS:GO works nearly perfectly with it. There's a small graphical glitch were the lamps (lights, literally) on the map are always visible.

Tried myself a couple of weeks ago... 20 fps =P

Guess I'll wait for the native one.

Oh I forget, I use wine-1.5 too so I was probably getting better performance than you.

+1 on this being the only Windows software I use.

I'm guessing we'll see it coming together with portal 2 and maybe dota 2, I think those use the same version of the source engine.

My guess is it will get release in tn+1.

Last time I played it with wine I had very good performance.

it would rock, if valve would keep us posted on wether the games are released in the near future.. i'd even take valve time. :)

Everything that is available for Mac from Valve WILL be ported to Linux. It's just a matter of time and asking Valve for release dates is just plain stupid. Be glad to know that it will come that should be enough satisfaction.

the newer the game the longer it will take do to more code and you want fewer bug's in new games for PR

Is it? Because everyone thought CS 1.6 wouldn't be and "BAM" there it is =)

"Everything that is available for Mac from Valve WILL be ported to Linux. "

Says nothing about software that wasn't available for Mac. So his statement and your observation aren't in conflict.
