Steam for Linux

[Resolved] Steam failing to updtae
Fresh install of Ubuntu 12.10, I've run Software Updater, and have installed Steam. Steam installs without any problem, but when I try to start it, it updates a couple MB and then throws a Fatal Error, telling me I must be connected to the internet.

I am connected, I had just downloaded the client. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Click OK and continue. Steam might download another update then be good to go.

Thankyou for your quick reply. I had tried several times, and reinstalled Steam. Then, of course, after posting my request, Steam updates, and Im posting this from the Steam Linux client now. :)

Sorry about the hassle. I've seen the Steam client start, download an update, complain about missing Internet, then download another update. Unsure wtf is happening there. Internet is clearly up the entire time.

Glad you made it though!
