Nvidia Optimus - Alert / Warning - Bumblebee
Hi All,

i saw many instances where people have installed Nvidia drivers without bumblebee and have broken their system.

Do you believe a warning / alert for optimus graphics cards under Additional drivers in Ubuntu / Mint or perhaps even in Steam will help in user awareness and prevent breakage of system.

It could also indicate the availability of bumblebee with a necessary caveat that it unofficially supports the optimus enabled cards.

P.S.

1. I shall put forth the idea in features requests / bugs, if there are many who consent this.
2. If you're a Mint user, you could support the idea here as well.

Some notice in some place is needed. Not sure if the Steam Client is the place to do it though. This sounds like something that should be handled by the OS -- whatever OS that is. Perhaps the OS does a check before installing any Nvidia driver.

Personally, I'd like to see those cards go the way of the Winmodem and die a painful death.
