Ubuntu 12.10 drivers
Alright. I've been using Ubuntu 12.10. My video card is an ATI 4250 HD, and TF2 is running at 3 fps. I've been fiddling around with drivers and stuff, and I can't find anything that will make it work well. It also seems that Chris's maxframes fps config won't work, when all my other cfgs are. Any other info on my PC can be provided if needed, thanks in advance c;

The 4000 series is no longer supported by the normal releases of the amd drivers. You will need to install 13.1 legacy manually.

Manually.. How would I go about doing that?

Instructions should be found on AMD's webpage, I assume.

First download this package: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/legacy/amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13.1-legacy-linux-x86.x86_64.zip
then run this in the terminal: sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic
Then follow the guide at 3.1 here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI#Installing_upstream_drivers_directly_from_AMD.27s_website
just change the name to the name of the driver package that you have.

Thanks, I'll try it when I get back on Linux. Not really sure how to get everything done, I'm new to Linux and I'd like to use it full time due to terrible blue sceen issues on windows.
