After all the updates i tryed to run up counter strike and bang crash :| . Video mode change failure The game has detected that the previous attept to stat in openGL video mode failed . The game will run in software mode ( Ok / Cancel ) . Cancel does nothing , and when i press ok another crash apears : Fatal Error Failed to create SDL Window . I have installed my video graphics card up to date , anyway its a old one but was working before update (ATI 9250 Pro ) . Dunno where to post so i posted here . By the way im not a linux user im a Windows XP profesional user

Edit : Seems the update that steam did , deleted all my files inside counter-strike , trying to unistall...

Your card is no longer supported by amd, you are better off using open source drivers. Which are probably faster aswell.

Didnt amd update the legacy proprietary drivers a few months back? (prob because of steam)

Please always informed what system you are using (as in, ubuntu... 12.04, 12.10?) and everything else like 32bit, 64bit, you hardware specs.
It makes it easier for people to help you

Well, we are known as BFU friendly community, always helpfull to the newbies... :p

Nimeni, it sounds like you are playing CS1.6. Append " -directx -window -width 800 -height 600" to launch options (right click on game, propetries, general tab, set launch options button.) That should force game to use DirectX and either cause another error message or prevent error completly.

This is true, but this card is not supported by the legacy drivers which steam does support. It is however, supported by the open source drivers.
