Linux users have generous pockets, so I would say 'most'. But, until Carmack changes his mind, I doubt this will happen.

needs to understand that he was discredited until now.
I think we need convincing, carmack, that the situation has changed radically after the courage of the steam from valve when porting to linux

I don't know why people hold John Carmack to such high esteem, id haven't released a decent game for 13 years - Q3A was released in 1999! Considering Doom 3 sucked and RAGE hasn't had a native release (oh, and it sucks) he only really has Q3A to base his assumptions on, and the Linux userbase was much smaller in 1999.

Irrelevant man with irrelevant views.

I've pre-ordered it, since I thought there would be a RAGE port. I was very disappointed-.- I've learned from this and will never preorder something unless there is a valid proof of a Linux port e.g:. a demo.

I always think of id as an engine developer that released 50 dollar demos to the public. Granted I really really liked some of those demos.

'Business sense' is utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in most cases. There's money in Linux, I'm certain of it. Like deep oil, it'll take a while to make it pay.

Do you remember people talking about Apple, market share and phones, in 2006?

I have it anyway.
