Disable HD Pack in Half-Life

Well this is the first time I've played Half-Life 1 on Steam, even though I bought it on Steam. (First time I played through I was on an old WoN disk) And from what I've seen the HD pack is O.K. in Blue Shift and maybe in Opposing Force, but it just doesn't really work in Half-Life.
So far I haven't figured out how to disable it..
I've tried running steam://removeaddon/halflifehd (Found from here )
And reinstalling.. so far no luck. Any help?
