Help the cause
Im playing TF2 hard in these days.
Never crash, it seems works very well.
I really wanna help u but i got only this game. (i usually play DotA2)

Why are u not making games for free (only Valve games and just for linux of course)? Its seems a provocation but imho could be a nice point for u and of course for us.

- We could help u to find more bugs and stuff
- Its still beta so its not crowded and u dont lose too much money
- More people could move to Linux (finally!!)

When the beta will end, the games will return to your propriety unless we pay for them of course.

P.S. pls port DotA2 to Linux i wanna play a MOBA but i dont wanna play HoN!

And they can not just do this for titles they do not publish themselves.

Sure..i mean the Valve games of course!

Well, right now, there are no Valve games that are available for Linux, free or otherwise, except TF2 and Half-Life. Everything else is still more or less in early development. They rushed TF2 to a public release instead of Left 4 Dead 2 specifically because it's free, meaning an easy source of test subjects (as GLaDOS would say) for their engine. That'll likely take care of most of the issues their other games would have anyway.

The idea of making their Linux versions free to play for the duration of the beta is an interesting one, but I think by the time they're ready to release the rest of them to the public at all, the beta will already be over.

I think having free Linux testing for valve games while steam for Linux is still in beta is a good idea, or maybe free weekends for linux only, would help encourage people to try linux too............ although methods of forcing people to use something i dont usually agree with, however I'll make an exception in my ethos for this. lol, but i own all valve games anyway :) so doesnt bother me personally.

Free weekends wouldn't work very well unless they were announced a few days ahead of time, since actually installing Linux and getting Steam to work properly would take some doing.
