Counter Strike Available!
Hm, I wonder what this is: http://i.imgur.com/BuLFz7E.jpg

(Not wine, I promise I'm not that mean)

So far I can't connect to any servers (assets don't match). Anyone want to host a server and I'll try to connect?

Steam -> All Games -> Counter Strike -> Properties -> Beta -> SteamPipe Beta -> Install

then:

cd ~/Steam/SteamApp/common/Counter-Strike; LD_LIBRARY_PATH:"$LD_LIBRARY_PATH":. ./hl_linux -game cstrike;

I can't seem to connect to any protected servers ("You have been disconnected from the server. Reason: Bad file. Server is enforcing file consistency for sprites/fast_wallpuff1.spr" or map bsp errors). Anyone want to get a server running in linux and post here and we can see if we can get a game going?

Half-Life is on Linux, I got this information tonight!!!!
BTW did you already own CS or it appeared out of nothing?

Other thing, if I buy HL will I be able to play it on Linux or only those who already had purchased it before can?

I've been able to connect to a few servers and play a few games.

I was able to connect and play a game with cs_office. Still no de_dust2, complains about that sprite, even after redownloading. :(

Hey guys calm down, it's already a good thing it being ported to Linux. In fact my dream was that happening.

hw.so is in the directory with ./hl_linux, so the LD_LIBRARY_PATH should pull it in. Copy and paste it to make sure you're getting it right.

Note that it has LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:. with a colon and period. It says to load from both the existing LD_LIBRARY_PATHs as well as the "current directory" (".").

Neither do I have Team Fortress 2 Beta showing up, yet I own it.
You try restarting the Steam client?

Try to show all games in your Library and not just Linux games, then CS should show up, and you just need to join the steam-pipe beta as explained by the OP.

Also got it running this side:

Is anyone able to run CS or Halflife with more than 60FPS? I can't seem to turn off VSync (Sync to VBLANK)
