Steam crashes when trying to run Big Picture mode

I use 64bit ubuntu 12.10. I tried to run in big picture using a ps3 controller and steam crashed, now it crashes everytime I try to run the BIg Picture mode. I don't know for sure its due to the controller because it won't run either without it. This is happening after some update, because it used to work just fine. Here's the log

After this, steam crashes and If I try many times it won't run again until I restart the computer

I can report the same thing. I can't run Big Picture, since it makes steam to crash. (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Kernel 3.5, AMD 13.11)

i had that same issue, had to update the drivers from nvidia to r310 from ubuntus repository

Same on my Intel 4000, used to work as well. It could still be a driver issue though, but would appreciate some sort of info on the crash in the console log.

This trick worked for me. Just minimize steam windows and run BPM from the Icon on top of the screen. May not work the first time but if I open up steam again, minimize, BPM from icon it does. Hope it helps. ;-)
