Crusader Kings II for Linux crashes in tutorial
Running the game in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Kernel 3.5 and AMD drivers 12.11, it crashes in the tutorial when I click on the shield icon.

I have the same experience. I am running Kubuntu 12.10, 3.5.0-22-generic kernel, AMD drivers version 9.000-0ubuntu3. The game crashes when starting the very first tutorial by clicking on the shield the tutorial tells you to click on. Moreover, it crashes in some other situations when clicking some button.

Is more info needed? What should I do to obtain and add this info?

By the way, as a great fan of strategy games I find CKII a great addition to the Linux game catalogue!
Run steam from the terminal and see if you get an error.

I get the same issue here, running 12.10 with Nvidia drivers (310) Kernel Linux 3.5.0-21-generic. I have tried some of the other turotials and they don't crash, but some don't seem to work properly (won't let you continue).
All I get in the terminal is a segmentation fault
This has been reported in the Paradox forums, and the devs are working on it: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?658016-Linux-CTD-when-opening-closing-tabs and http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?657908-Crash-to-desktop-in-native-Linux-version (you may need to register an account and enter the product key of the game in your profile to have access to tech support forum). It's probably best to report any further issues with the game there.
