How to install TF2 to non-default steam library folder?
I've add another SLF on free hard disk but Steam doesn't offer me to choose it when I'm trying to install TF.
And 'substitute ~/.steam folder to a symlink' trick doesn't work anymore seems to me - Steam restores all it's folders to its' original state.

I still cannot install TF2 in any other library:

I checked for updates, but I do have the newest build, so this issue is absolutely not fixed, as stated in the 8 january patch. I tried workarounts like symlinks but steam everytime wants to restore all its folders, and ♥♥♥♥ gets completely ♥♥♥♥ed up.

So please fix this.

im interested in this issue as well. not only to move already installed games, but to be able to install them in an already existing folder...

although this doesn't solve this specific issue, i found that moving the default folder to an empty folder in the /host directory solved my space issue... afterwards, just redirect the steam launcher to the new folder and presto.

I discovered the same by accident. I tried making some symlinks to different storage but Steam appeared to dereference them and simply changed the library to the linked location. So, I got the result I wanted by accident :)
